Auto Engineer offers professional repair services for a wide range of automotive electronic modules, including engine computers, transmission controllers, body computers, and instrument clusters. Every unit that comes in is documented, inspected, and tested, with a full backup of the original data created before work begins. Our technicians carefully examine the internal circuit boards for defective components or damaged traces, mitigate corrosion when present, and restore functionality. Components are replaced only with quality parts that meet or exceed OEM specifications, and each module is bench tested under simulated vehicle conditions to confirm reliability before return.

Please note that repair charges may vary if additional damage or hidden issues are discovered during inspection, and customers will be notified before any extra work is completed. This ensures transparency while allowing us to deliver a reliable and long lasting repair.

Warranty and Returns

WARRANTY AND RETURNS COVERAGE

Auto Engineer includes a Free 1-Year limited warranty on all new, rebuilt items, and repair services, with the option to extend coverage up to 3 years for an additional cost. Warranty replacements carry a 90-day coverage period, applying only to the repaired or replaced portion of the unit. Damage from accidents, misuse, improper installation, tampering, or environmental factors is excluded, and costs such as labor, towing, or rentals are not covered. Claims require proof of purchase and inspection before approval, and service is limited to repair or replacement at our discretion. Refunds are only issued if a repair cannot be completed, and a diagnostic fee may apply for unrepairable units. Customers in Canada and the United States receive free shipping on warranty service, while international customers are responsible for shipping and related fees. All returns must be pre-authorized, with unauthorized or refused shipments subject to restocking, and original shipping charges are non-refundable. RENTAL COVERAGE

If you purchase a module and later find the issue was elsewhere and the module was only needed for troubleshooting, Auto Engineer allows you to convert your purchase into a rental within 30 days. For details, see our Warranty and Returns Policy.

We repair a wide range of automotive electronic modules including ECM/PCM/ECU, TCM/TCU, BCM/CCM, airbag modules, instrument clusters, and more.

How do I send in my part for repair?

After placing your order, ship your module securely packaged to our facility. Be sure to include your order number and contact details inside the package.

Can every module be repaired?

Not all modules are repairable. Some units with severe water damage, burned processors, or extensive board failure may require replacement. If a unit cannot be repaired, a diagnostic fee may apply.

How long does a typical repair take?

Service times depend on the condition of the module and the type of repair. Many repairs are completed the same day, with a typical turnaround of 1–3 business days.

Do repaired parts come with a warranty?

Yes, all repairs include a free 1-year limited warranty with the option to extend coverage up to 3 years for an additional cost.

Who covers shipping for repair services?

Customers are responsible for shipping parts to our facility. Return shipping within Canada and the United States is free, while international customers are responsible for return shipping.

What kind of tools and equipment do we use?

At Auto Engineer, all electronic servicing is performed under strict electrostatic discharge (ESD) control procedures. Our workstations and workflows are compliant with ANSI/ESD S20.20 in North America and aligned with IEC 61340-5-1 global standards for the protection of sensitive electronic devices.

Our technicians use certified ESD-safe tools, including the Wera ESD product line, which features surface resistance values designed to dissipate charge in a controlled and safe manner. Every module that comes in for service is handled with grounded work surfaces, wrist straps, ionization where required, and specialized protective equipment to ensure static is neutralized before it can damage delicate circuits.

In addition, each unit is documented, data-backed up, and bench tested using in-house emulators and diagnostic harnesses, giving us the ability to safeguard your module both electrically and digitally. These measures go beyond standard repair practices to provide our customers with maximum reliability, reduced risk of data loss, and peace of mind.
