Refurbished 6R80 Transmission Control Module (TCM), also known as the Mechatronic Leadframe Assembly, is a certified OEM replacement designed for all 2009-up Ford F-150, Ford Ranger, Ford Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator models equipped with the 6-speed 6R80 automatic transmission.

  • Pre-programmed to your vehicle’s VIN for Plug-and-Play installation
  • Flashed with the latest Ford software updates for optimal shift quality

What does the Transmission Computer (TCM/TCU) do?

The TCM or TCU manages shifting, gear timing, and transmission performance by communicating with sensors and the engine computer to ensure smooth driving and fuel efficiency. Without a properly working TCM, the transmission cannot operate correctly.

Can my existing TCM be restored or cloned to another TCM?

Yes, in most cases we can reset, repair, or clone your original TCM data onto a replacement unit to maintain your vehicle’s programming and compatibility.

If my TCM cannot be repaired, can a replacement be provided?

If the unit is not repairable, we can provide a rebuilt or replacement TCM that is programmed or cloned to your vehicle specifications.

How long does the TCM service take?

Service times vary depending on the condition of the module and the type of work required. In most cases, TCM services are completed the same day, with a typical turnaround of 1–3 business days. Fulfillment may take longer if a donor TCM is needed for cloning or if a replacement unit is temporarily out of stock.

Where is the Transmission Computer (TCM/TCU) located?

The TCM or TCU is usually mounted inside the engine bay, near or on the transmission housing, though its location varies by make and model. In some vehicles it may be found under the hood attached to the firewall, beneath the battery tray, or integrated into the valve body inside the transmission itself. Always check your service manual or contact us with your VIN for precise location details.
